My name is Marisela Featherstone. I am a Two Spirit author and artist. I was raised in Woodland, California but my family originated in the borderlands of Texas and Northern Mexico. I am of Lipan Apache descent and also identify as Chicane. I received a BA in Chicano Studies and a Minor in Native American Studies from the University of California at Davis. My writing, just like my traditional artwork, explores identity as I attempt to heal past wounds through the exploration of heritage, culture, and Queerness. I use art making and writing to amplify my voice and as a conduit to bring my spirit back to myself and my family back to pre-colonial ways of existing.
